trip part 2
For some reason this did not post last time I was here so I am trying again. Sorry!
After Aric was done at the school we hit the local Canadian Tire in Wilson Creek for a new stove as the one we had borowed was, um, shall we say broken. It was leaking fuel and it had caught on fire so we were a little leary of starting it again. Oh well, now we have our own stove.

Saturday Morning we packed everything up, and drove to Gibsons (closer to the ferry) and walked around the marina. What a cute place, so green (as was everything the west side of the Coquahlla!) and the people were quite friendly. We saw where they filmed The Beachcombers and of course had to have lunch at Molly's Reach! Not bad food.
We were planning to stop at Stanley Park for a few hours for Isaac to play at the beach but he fell asleep just before the Lion's Gate Bridge so we decided to drive all the way to Ladner before we woke him up. We were meeting Arlene (fantastic friend from Camp Qwanoes!) and had some time to kill before she was done work so as we were cruising, checking out Ladner, we found the local Kinsmen water park and though it a great alternative to Stanley Park.
Isaac was not too sure at first and thought the water was too cold but Aric toook him to the mist brigde and then to the fire hose and helped him learn what each thing did.
Then he was good to go on his own. He still didnt get too wet but had fun sticking his hands in the spray and filling my Nalgene bottle. He did get hosed off by some big kids and wasn't too please about that but was back into it within minutes. (and thankfully their mom's told them to leave the little ones alone).
We had a great evening with Arlene and got to meet Mark (he seems great for you AR!) and had a nice wind down to the weekend. Lots of laughs and some great BBQ-ing too. Isaac got to see the chickens and try the trampoline (not so good he says).
Sunday morning we packed up and headed out for the trip back home. We did it all in one day this time and managed to not have any major delays, just some (very) minor construction. YEAH! Isaac did great in the car, he fell asleep just outside of Meritt and woke up just before Revelstoke so that was great timing for gas, supper and a pee break, not to mention a park! Then we made the rest of the trek home and got in just after 9PM.
