Fun with Mommy & Daddy
We did a few day trips this summer and took Isaac to Callaway Park which is just minutes from our house.
It's the local amusement park, not as large as Canada's Wonderland of course but just as exciting for an almost 3 year old. Especially since when we went the 2nd time he was taller and allowed to ride more things! We had one mishap on the way, we stopped for gas and when Aric went to start the car it did NOTHING! Our battery had died! So Aric pushed and I popped the clutch (yeah for standards!) and we made it to the Bowness Auto Parts store.
Isaac LOVED it! He 'helped' Daddy clean the contacts with the brush and had a blast. After that little delay the day went smoothly.
Our other trips included a drive out to Nordegg for the Frontier Lodge Fat Tire Festival where we helped out in the kitchen. Aric worked one day, then I did the 2nd and it allowed us to both serve and have time to take Isaac to see the bike events. He was quite impressed with the big air competition and has since decided that he loves camping at the big camp. He 'helped' in the kitchen and was quite happy with his apron.

Our last trip was to Johnston Canyon with some friends and was an interesting day. It started out about an hour late, was crowded as anything at the Canyon so it took us longer than anticipated and as such we were all quite grouchy by the end as we didnt stop for lunch before. We had planned a picnic with portable BBQ's which turned into supper (about 4pm or so) and none of us had lunch as we left Calgary about 11am. All was not a loss, the Canyon was superb, we did have fun and are all still friends to this day. We just learned that lunch comes first!
This is a cute shot of Isaac helping me in the garden. He LOVED to pick the bean and here is is lifting the HUGE zucchini leaves to find them for me. I think he like being able to get dirty and use the trowel in the good garden soil better than his sandbox that we have. Plus he knows that we eat what comes from the garden and that is cool too.
